The ‘Easter’ collection is a rare phenomenon in the modern jewellery and accessory industry. Dedicated to Easter Sunday, the Day of Christ’s Resurrection, this collection includes eleven models based on classic Easter postcards of the past century and the ornaments that decorate the apparel of Orthodox clergy and adorn churches and cathedrals.

Inscribed on the models embellished by an Orthodox cross and traditional Byzantine motifs and ornaments are the letters “XB”, which in Russian stands for “Christ is Risen”.

Adorning the cufflinks are lacquer miniatures created by the artists of Fedoskino school of miniature painting, who used an old Russian technique of painting on papier-mâché. Fedoskino miniatures are famous for their shimmering glow, the secret of which lies in a special technique, the so called ‘transparent painting’. Several thin layers of translucent paint are applied over an underlay of reflective material – gold leaf, silver or mother-of-pearl.  A few models are made in the ‘dense painting’ technique, where oil paint is applied to white primer. Apart from the unique painting technique, Fedoskino miniatures are notable for their perfect harmony between the design pattern and the shape of an article, as well as for an artful combination of bright, saturated colours with soft pastel tones. All of the above features, enhanced by the elegant beauty of the Russian folk painting and the diversity of design patterns, give the ‘Easter’ collection an air of festivity and make it truly exquisite and unique.
